Electronic Music
« on: January 22, 2008, 07:30:39 PM »
So does anyone else like electronic music as much as I do?

I prefer Trance, Eurodance, Eurobeat, & Dance. I like other genres too, it just depends on the song itself.

Well, my definition of electronic music, is any song written or composed mostly by computers or hardware.

Alot of underground clubs play tons of trance and rave. I'm not too good with the genres themselves.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_electronic_music_genres

good list of genres. Like I said above, my favorites are very slim compared to the whole list, but I listen to them all.

(Nice lie BKV. lol. I really hope the world doesn't actually explode.)

Care to explain the differences between the four genres you listed above?

Trance tends to be quite repetitive. Its based on looped arps and returning basslines. bpm is usually 130-150

Eurodance, is more varied. It usually has a basic formula: Into-Main A-Chorus-Main B-Chorus-Outro with some variations in that. Eurodance is also sometimes accomp by vocals. bpm is usually 130-155

Eurobeat is like eurodance, but is more clean and much faster and frantic. It has a very distinct 80s/90s feel and has alot of simple synths accomp by vocals. Beats are usually simple, with occasional complex beat riffs when changing sections. bpm is usually 145-170

Dance to me is just trance with vocals.

Like I said I'm too good with details of genres. I just listen to them :D

I think dance is my favorite out of those. Does "eurodance" or "eurobeat" mean it has to come from Europe? ???

Actually eurobeat as it is now comes from Japan mostly. It was started in Europe yup.

Eurodance yes. I think it first came around in the 90s.

Oh Wow, I would never have guessed. BTW, have you gotten the Hamasaki Ayumi Eurobeats Brink¿ I classify all of them as dance, for my playlist, unless when it specifically comes from a game, but as long as it's a mix and whatnot, it gets classified as Dance, 6 years ago I used to classify all as Techno, so as to have it play after the Rock genre.

I doubt there's anyone interested in Elekmusic a much as you...........           ,_,    `-`   , _,   '-'   ,_ ,  ¬_¬'
